Certificate 3 Guarantee

Students can now take advantage of the Certificate 3 Guarantee Program, a new Queensland Government initiative which reduces the cost of the course to the student. The principal objective of the Certificate 3 Guarantee is the delivery and completion of Certificate III Qualifications which lead to job outcomes or career progression.

Are you eligible?

To be eligible to receive government contribution participants must:

  • Be 15 years of age or older
  • Have finished secondary school or no longer at school
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen permanently living in Queensland
  • Employment status does not matter - a participant can be unemployed and seeking work, or be working on a full-time, part-time, self-employed or casual basis
  • Not hold a Certificate level III or higher qualification*

*This includes any equivalent Certificate III or higher level qualification irrespective of whether the qualification is through a university degree, apprenticeship or traineeship pathway. Certificate level III qualification completed while at secondary school does not exclude you from accessing the Certificate 3 Guarantee.

Other Requirements
  • Student Contribution Fees apply to all students partaking in the Certificate 3 Guarantee Program. Acceptance is subject to eligibility criteria and availability. The program also includes Mentoring and Job Placement Assistance.
  • Participants will no longer be eligible for further subsidised training under the Program once they complete the Certificate III Qualification
  • Participants will be required to complete the Training and Employment Survey within three months after training.


To be eligible for a concession fee:

(a) the Participant holds a Health Care concession card or Pensioner concession card issued under Commonwealth law, or is the partner or a dependant of a person who holds a Health Care concession card or Pensioner concession card, and is named on the card; or

(b) the Participant can provide an official form under Commonwealth law confirming that the Participant, his or her partner or the person of whom the Participant is a dependant, is entitled to concessions under a Health Care or Pensioner concession card; or

(c) the Participant is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person.

Fee exemptions

Fee exemptions MUST be applied for at the time of enrolment. If concessions are not claimed at the time of enrolment, full fees will be charged and no adjustments can be made.

Fee payment

Fees can be paid by cash, cheque, money-order (payable to Australasian Drilling Institute), EFTPOS, Credit Card or Bank Transfer.

Blended training combines online and practical training to achieve the most effective performance outcomes in the most efficient manner. ADI’s blended training solution components include initial training online, followed by workshops and technical assessments on our live drilling rigs.
