Australasian Drilling Institute (ADI) were proud to see 12 of our latest students graduate on 6 August 2019 with a Certificate II in Drilling Operations.
The training was delivered in Acacia Ridge under Energy Skills Queensland’s “Telco Drill Career Start” Skilling Queenslanders for Work project, which prepared industry newcomers to work in horizontal directional drilling, used for the trenchless installation of new pipelines, ducts and cables, including for the National Broadband Network (NBN).
Over the course of six weeks, students completed a range of self-paced e-learning modules as well as key work health and safety training and contractor inductions, before going on practicals on an operating drill rig with industry partner PON Projects. ESQ provided ongoing learner support and job readiness assistance to ensure graduates can now transition into work as Driller’s Assistants or Offsiders, hopefully embarking on a long-term career in the industry.
Algester MP and Minister for Environment and the Great Barrier Reef, Leanne Enoch, congratulated our graduates on behalf of Shannon Fentiman, Minister for Training and Skills Development, acknowledging each student’s achievements and wishing them well for their future.
