Certificate I in Resources and Infrastructure Operations

This qualification is an introductory qualification and is designed to raise awareness of the Resources and Infrastructure Industries.This certificate allows individuals to develop basic functional skills and knowledge to prepare for work in the resources and infrastructure Industries. The range of technical skills and knowledge is limited.

Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation

This qualification reflects the roles of individuals working in the resources and infrastructure industries who perform mainly routine tasks and procedures, using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge, and taking some responsibility for the quality of the work outcomes.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in a metal processing facility or a coal preparation plant, performing mainly routine, operational tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge, in a defined context under direct supervision.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals such as derrickmen or assistant drillers working in well servicing operations. People in this role perform tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications in a wide variety of contexts, which may involve some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services and contingency measures.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals such as senior drillers or supervisors. They perform tasks involving a broad range of varied activities most of which are complex and non-routine. This qualification reflects the role of individuals such as supervisors in drilling operations. The tasks performed involve a high level of autonomy and require the application of significant judgement in planning and determining the selection of equipment/roles/techniques for themselves and others. They are required to demonstrate the application of a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning skills.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals such as supervisors in well servicing operations. The tasks performed by the supervisor in well servicing involve a high level of autonomy and require the application of significant judgement in planning and determining the selection of equipment/roles/techniques for themselves and others. They are required to demonstrate the application of a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning skills.

This qualification reflects the role of managers who perform tasks that are broad, specialised, complex and technical, and include strategic areas and initiating activities. They are required to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge and initiate solutions to technical problems or management requirements.
